I was recently interviewed by journalist Martin Buzacott for this ABC radio special from Australia, “Woodford and the Quest for Meaning,” about the Woodford Folk Festival. If you have a chance to listen, I hope you find it interesting.

Here is a report from the 2011-2012 festival:

  1. One very interesting thing to notice is the description on the Woodford Festival site of one concert venue as a “cathedral constructed of tall trees and wide sky.” The intention-and the marketing strategy- of these experiences appears to be to offer an alterantive to more traditional experiences of religion and the sacred. Imagine the walkway to Sunday services with children playing their instruments along the way!
