Spiritual Uses of Secular Music: ABC Interview
Posted in: General by Tom Beaudoin on February 6, 2010
That’s ABC as in “Australian Broadcasting Corporation.” Their show “Encounter” is a weekly feature on lived religion, with a commitment to religious and cultural diversity. I am included in their current show, which can be heard online, as one of several people interviewed about the “spiritual” significance of “secular” music forms today. This particular show considers Buddhism, Islam and Christianity, and hip-hop, rock, and electronica, and touches down in Australia, Africa, Britain, and the United States. This is the 7 Feb 2010 episode titled “Planet of Praise: Spiritual Songs in the 21st Century,” and can be found here.
