Since Michael Iafrate started a potential humor thread with his post, below, on Twisted Sister, here is a story that may evoke nods of recognition from guitarists, singers, and drummers (I’ll leave keyboardists out of it for now), and maybe some blowback from bassists — and golfers.

Is there even an informal genre of jokes about theologians? Twenty-five years as a bassist, and I’ve heard a lot of jokes about bassists and especially about drummers, but in fifteen years of work in theology, I don’t think I’ve picked up on a memorable thread of funniness about the “queen of the sciences,” although one might indeed begin right there.
