A pivotal moment for me was listening to the cassette of "All the World's a Stage" by Rush at a friend's house around 7th grade. Before that, I had been listening to country music on the AM radio station that hosted the Kansas City Royals baseball games I enjoyed on my transistor radio. I am still not sure what called to me about that music, but it opened some floodgate or lifeline that, once accessed, is still wide open for me.
